Entering Cricket Results on Desktop
By clicking to enter the result of the fixture you will be presented with the entry form below. Please note: If a team has brought less than 11 players, then in the event of the team being “all out” when batting, the number of wickets should be entered as 10 to ensure that each team’s Net Run Rate (NRR) can be calculated correctly.
Uninterrupted matches
In the event of an uninterrupted match, the Overs, Runs and Wickets can be entered for each team, whilst ticking the box to select which team was to bat first. Ensure the match winner in the drop-down box above is correct and click save.
Delayed or interrupted matches
Where a delay and/or one or more interruption means that the number of overs has to be reduced from the standard full quota for the match (as shown in brackets after Overs), either for both teams, or for just the team batting second, then the relevant suspension periods must be added, and the Calculate DL feature used.
Please note: This is required even if the only reduction in overs is made before play starts, for example a 50 over match being reduced to 40 overs per team, as it affects Net Run Rate (NRR).
The actual Overs, Runs and Wickets for each team should be entered, whilst ticking the box to select which team was to bat first.
To enter the details of a suspension period click add twice to show the detail entry for when the game stopped and started.
Next enter the details of the number of Overs left, Runs and Wickets Lost for when the match was stopped and then restarted. You should repeat this for all suspension periods and then click Calculate DL.
Finally, ensure the match winner in the drop-down box above is correct and click save. If the number of runs scored by the team who batted second is higher than the Target Score, then they should be selected as the winner. If they equalled the Target Score, the match shall be a Tie (Draw) , and if they failed to reach this score, then the team who batted first should be selected as the winner.
The above is also what should be entered where under the regulations a result can be taken when a match is abandoned when the team batting second has faced the minimum number of overs but is not all out and has not had the chance to face the agreed number of overs. In this scenario, a suspension period should be added to cover the difference in overs between those able to be completed and those which were agreed, with the Runs and Wickets not changing.
Please note: The Calculate DL feature can also be used live during a delayed or interrupted match to calculate the target score for the team batting second when the Duckworth/Lewis (D/L) method needs to be used.
