Creating venues
Only Institution Administrators (IAs) on BUCS Play are able to create and set venues. This can either be done through the Dashboard or in a specific Sport Community.
No new venues can be created with the same name of an existing venue. If a venue is used across multiple sports, once a venue is created for a specific Sport Community, it will need to be added to the other Sport Communities that will make use of this venue. Assigning venues to fixtures:
1. Go to the specific fixture via Dashboard or the Sport Community where the venue will be selectable amongst the Venue dropdown list.
NB: You can go back to the venue and edit it at any time by using the blue Edit button within the Institution Mgmt tab (see steps 1-3 below to reach here).
Creating new venues on Dashboard:
1. Click on the Dashboard button and navigate to the Institution Management (Mgmt) tab. Filter to your desired Sport Community and Institution.
2. Click the down arrow of the applicable Sport Community to expand the ribbon.
3. Click on the word 'VENUES(#)' to create a new venue.
4. Either search for and tick one of the existing venues on BUCS Play or select '+ Add A New Venue' to add a new venue.
5. Enter the location of your venue and click Next.
6. If your venue appears, select one of these options and skip to step 9. Otherwise, select 'Skip and create a new venue' at the bottom of the screen.
7. Then enter the details of your venue.
- Venue Name (required field)
- Type (e.g. Indoor Court, Pitch, Arena, etc.)
- Description (Venue notes)
- Upload Image
8. At this point you can either 'Finish' or 'Add more detail' about the venue.
9. If you need to add this venue to other Sport Communities, click here for further information on these steps.
10. To assign these venues to fixtures, follow the step outlined at the top of this page.
Creating new venues in a Sport Community:
To set up a new venue in a Sport Community please follow the steps below:
1. Enter the Sport Community in which you wish to add a venue.
2. Click on 'Teams' amongst the top menu.
3. Select the 'Manage Team Categories' tab.
4. Next to your institution, click on the 'Venues' button.
5. Either search for and tick one of the existing venues on BUCS Play or select '+ Create Venue' to add an new venue.
6. Enter the location of your venue and click Next.
7. If your venue appears, select one of these options to add this to your venue list. Otherwise, select 'Skip and create a new venue' at the bottom of the screen.
8. Then enter the details of your venue. The following are required fields:
- Venue Name (required field)
- Type (e.g. Indoor Court, Pitch, Arena, etc.)
- Description (Venue notes)
- Upload Image
9. At this point you can either 'Finish' or 'Add more detail' about the venue.

Deleting venues
To delete any existing venues from the list of venues for your institution, go to 'Teams' and then click on the 'Institutions' tab. Then they would click the settings cog and 'Venues'. From here you will be able to delete the locked venues.
